CONTEMPORARY/LYRICAL

Contemporary/Lyrical combines Jazz and Classical technique with a free form of movement. It is filled with very technical dance moves that are very visual and fun to perform and watch.  It is an ever-changing style of dance that continues to evolve and keeps us wanting more. Lyrical is a slow, expressive type of dance that usually interprets the lyrics of the song through movement. Contemporary is usually more abstract and creative with different lines, themes and interesting musical choices. 

All Contemporary/Lyrical students are required to also participate in Classical Ballet classes. This is due to the technique and knowledge required for a Contemporary/Lyrical class cannot be covered in just the one class. This is offered as a discounted package to assist financially. Once students have gained enough knowledge (over a few years) and the teachers are satisfied that they can continue in the Contemporary classes without a Classical Ballet class they will be informed. 

We offer Contemporary/Lyrical  from 8&U up to and including Adults in Troupes, Solo, Duo/Trio Classes.
